I am pleased to inform you that, effective January 01, 2025, Mr. Volker Walter will fully take over as Plant and Engineering Manager of the Delmenhorst factory. In this position, he reports directly to me.
Volker Walter joined ATLAS on September 02, 2024, and succeeds Mr. Gerhard Frerichs who will go into well-deserved retirement as General Manager Cranes next year. By making this early appointment, we are endeavor-ing to ensure an organized and smooth transition. Until he finally withdraws from working life, Gerd will, therefore, continue to remain available as needed in order to support Volker in his new and important tasks.
After successfully completing a university degree in mechanical engineering, Volker began his professional ca-reer in the design department of a medium-sized company specializing in special machine construction. Since 2008, he had been responsible for engineering management in various medium-sized companies and as a Chief Engineer in a global corporation. He has a strong background in product development within the automotive industry and experience in managing local and global teams.
In the past months, Volker already started to bring to ATLAS his blend of technical expertise, leadership, com-munication skills and project management experience, as well as his ability to drive innovation and excellence in product design and manufacturing.
